features

I'm always honored to be included on blogs and in treasuries that are curated by others, and I love to share these features on my blog and facebook as a way to encourage further exposure for the blogger or curator.

I was so happy to see that Etsy seller Ellogovna featured me in this bright, spring-inspired treasury that can't help but push away the gloom of these last few rainy days.

I was equally excited to hear about this feature on Liz's blog Let's See Etsy.

post-its

It looks like I'm all about finding fun stuff on the internet today ... And this video is just that. So colorful and crazy; these guys definitely have too much time on their hands. I secretly hope something like this happens while I'm at work ...

awestruck

I am totally in awe of this amazing wind knitting factory by Merel Karhof Product Design. It's pure brilliance, and I want one to put on my house or balcony someday. Check it out!!!

autumn already?

Within the last couple of weeks, the Virginia weather has mellowed out and turned entirely pleasant. I've noticed little tinges of color in the leaves, and the smell of fall in the air. This time of year is bittersweet for me - I love the mildness of the temperatures and lack of humidity (both of which mean a return to enjoyable outdoor activities), but I hate that autumn is followed by winter. I dread the cold (which could explain my knitting addiction!) ...

While ignoring the unpleasant thought of winter creeping up on us in a few short months, Henry and I have thoroughly enjoyed spending time outside together with our friends recently. Picnics in the park, a trip to Morris Orchard for apple picking, and countless hours at the playground have filled our afternoons and weekends lately. I wish the only seasons were spring and fall so that we could enjoy these temperatures year round. A move to a better climate may need to be in our future...

nearing completion!

On Monday, I took the slow ride up the elevator to the ninth floor of SC to use the stairwell as a photo studio once again. With it's huge skylight and flaking walls, that stairwell has been a photo shoot standby since my first year in VCU photo because the lighting is effortless (add a reflector for fill and you're good to go!) and the texture of the walls is incredible.

This time, I used that photo-perfect space to document some of the items for West Coast Kix. I am so excited to be near the end of this order, because I think the products are beautiful and I cannot wait to show them to Ben and set them up for their Carytown debut. Items will be appearing in store on Monday, September 20th - check them out!

P.S. Thanks to Jordan Roeder for being such a beautiful and accommodating model! xoxo

shop of the day

I'm so happy to see that I have been named shop of the day at papernstitch today. Not only does that put me up at the top of the page on the exhibition site, but it means that Brittni wrote a beautiful blog post about me as well. I'm also excited to note that I have been invited to continue at papernstitch for the October exhibit. Gearing up for the holiday season, and I couldn't be happier!

projector ring

Just discovered this projector ring created by Luke Jerram, and all I can say is that I really, really want one. Creative, clever, and super sweet, this ring appeals to both the photographer and hopeless romantic in me...

abandon

As anyone that has seen my Abandon Series should know, I'm fascinated by abandoned buildings. What photographer isn't? I think it is something that we all turn our lens to at some point. Below is a collection of images found on TheCoolist, all featuring some amazing abandoned places. I want to go explore!

On a side note, my aviator cap was featured in the daily favorites at papernstitch today. :)

treasury

Just made a new treasury for the first time in weeks. Find it here.

my baby love

Already posted these silly pictures of myself and the most precious, sweetest boy in the whole world on facebook, but I thought they deserved a blog post, too. Henry's smiles and cuddles continue to be the stuff that keeps me going, melts my heart, and inspires me more than anything...

daily favorites

I just discovered that my Cozy Cowl with Metallic Thread has been included in the daily favorites over at Paper n Stitch. I am still so excited and grateful for all of the exposure that Brittni's brilliant website and blog are providing for my store.

ch-ch-ch-changes

I'm sure you noticed the week-long silence recently, so you might have gathered that last week was CRAZY. I moved (more on that later), got a job (and I'm not allowed to blog about the company - sorry!), did as much knitting as possible, and obviously never got around to the blog until yesterday.

Anyway, finally had some time to put into Etsy today, and I shot some new pictures to update my mittens listings, as well as to document a scarf for a new listing. Moving away from my brown dining room wall kind of threw a wrench in the works of the cohesive look I've been striving for recently, so for now there's this exposed brick wall that has great light... Not digging it as much as I thought I might, but it will do for now. Check out the new Cowl of Many Colors (No. 3 this time!) and mitten pictures:
